The Big Three

Posted by Anthony on July 13, 2009

No, not FDR, Churchill, and Stalin.

No, not Ford, GM, and Chrysler.

No, not Honda, Nissan Motors, and Toyota.

No, not BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen.

No, not ABC, NBC, and CBS.

I’m talking Limbaugh, O’Reilly, and Hannity. Three radio/tv hosts that are right-wingers. I hesitate to say they are conservative, because they truly are not.

Simply put, two of the above suck-Limbaugh and Hannity.

Limbaugh is obnoxious. Hannity is boring. O’Reilly is actually good.

Anyway, the three cast a bad image for conservatives. They “win” by shouting. They cause controversies for higher ratings. They may have good points at times, but they can not be the ones who represent Conservatives and the GOP.

Conservatives do not need those kinds of tactics-shouting, spewing talking points, making unsourced claims, etc.

I’ll propose a new Big Three. They are Conservative radio hosts that broadcast their shows on my local station, AM 560. These three are honest. They do not shout into their microphones. They can back up their claims. They debate with intelligence.

They are: Mike Gallagher, Michael Medved, and Cisco Cotto (apologies to Cisco’s co-host “Big” John Howell-he’s not quite to the right yet!)

Three honest radio hosts. Check them out sometime.

I agree that Mike Gallagher is a-okay; I don’t know the other two you mentioned, but there are some good local talk shows around the Ft. Worth area. I have a problem with O’reilly and his take on global warming, but I think overall he’s okay.

I certainly agree that Limbaugh, Hannity, and O’Reilly do the conservative cause no favors—and Limbaugh will quickly any politician who questions his stature. But all three have a horrible record of lying when it suits their purpose.
